Richard Hudson (United States) was elected Chair of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Committee on Political Affairs and Security at the 2021 Remote Session.
Previously appointed as Chair of the committee to fill a vacancy, Hudson won election at the 2021 Remote Session by acclamation. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the OSCE PA Ad Hoc Committee on Countering Terrorism.
Hudson has served in the United States Congress representing North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District since 2013. He is a member of the Republican Party and has served as Deputy Republican Whip since 2013 and Secretary of the Republican Conference since 2021. He also serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and previously served as Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation Security. Hudson co-chairs the bipartisan Special Operations Forces Caucus, the International Road Safety Caucus, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, and the Pediatric Trauma Caucus.
