Johan Büser (Sweden) was elected Treasurer on 4 July 2023 at the OSCE PA’s 30th Annual Session in Vancouver.
Prior to serving as Treasurer, he was Rapporteur of the OSCE PA’s General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions for two years. He also serves as Deputy Head of the Swedish OSCE PA Delegation, having previously served as Head of Delegation, from 2018 to 2022. He has also participated in several election observation missions.
In the Swedish Parliament, Büser has served in several committees and is a deputy member of the Judges Proposals Board which submits proposals for new judges in the Swedish courts to the government. He is also deputy member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on the Labour Market.
