Mariana Rodrigues, Research Assistant

Mariana Rodrigues joined the OSCE PA’s office in Copenhagen in November 2024. Mariana holds a master’s degree in history, International Relations and Cooperation from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. Her academic work includes a dissertation focused on the role of the OSCE in the field of preventive diplomacy, particularly how it pertains to the challenges faced by ethnic minorities in the region. 

Previously, she worked as a Social Sciences Researcher on EU-funded projects, focusing on the gender and ethics dimension. She was also an intern for the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the OSCE, in Vienna, assisting with the three dimensions of the OSCE. 

Mariana has also been selected as a 2024 OSCE Scholar for Peace and Security and a participant in the social inclusion cluster of the Third Edition of the Mediterranean Youth Academy at the Union for the Mediterranean in Barcelona. 

She is fluent in Portuguese and English, possesses a good understanding of German and Spanish and has begun studying Russian to further develop her linguistic abilities.
