Kristian Vigenin (Bulgaria)

Kristian VigeninKristian Vigenin (Bulgaria) was elected Vice-President of the Assembly at the 2018 Annual Session in Berlin and was re-elected at the Remote Session in July 2021.

In August 2021 he was appointed Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Migration.  He also serves as Deputy Head of the Bulgarian Delegation to the OSCE PA.

Previously, he served as Rapporteur of the General Committee on Political Affairs and Security and as the Assembly’s Special Representative on the South Caucasus. 

In Bulgaria, Vigenin was Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2013-2014. Vigenin has served as a member of the Foreign Policy Committee and the European Affairs and Oversight of European Funds Committee in the National Assembly of Bulgaria. He was previously a member of the European Parliament and was elected as the first EP Chair of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in 2011.

He is a member of the BSP for Bulgaria party and his home district is Yambol.
