The Rt. Hon. Sir John Whittingdale (United Kingdom) was elected Vice-President of the OSCE PA at the 33rd Annual Session in The Hague.
A member of the British Parliament since 1992, representing Maldon, John Whittingdale is a member of the Conservative Party and has held several ministerial positions. Over the years, he has served as ministers for Data and Digital Infrastructure, for Media/ Tourism/ and Creative Industries, and for Culture/Media and Sports. Since 2024, he has been a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and is a strong advocate for government accountability.
Within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, John Whittingdale has been active as a member of the Parliamentary Support Team for Ukraine and as a member of the Sub-Committee on Rules of Procedure, among other roles.
