Broad engagement in OSCE observation in Bosnia and Herzegovina of critical importance says delegation leader

SARAJEVO, 1 October 2022 - In a meeting earlier today with United States Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's observation delegation to the elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Irene Charalambides (Cyprus), stressed the importance of engagement from across the OSCE region.

"I look forward to working closely with all of my fellow observers to deliver an accurate and balance assessment of this electoral process," she continued. 

United States Senator Jeanne Shaheen, who is observing the elections as a member of the OSCE PA delegation, reiterated her commitment to working with the OSCE to the benefit of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region. 

The OSCE PA delegation of parliamentary observers is working closely with observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and colleagues from the parliamentary assemblies of the Council of Europe and NATO, as well as the European Parliament.
