AINUR ARGYNBEKOVA (KAZAKHSTAN)
Ainur Argynbekova was appointed by OSCE PA President Pere Joan Pons Sampietro (Spain) as Special Representative on Climate Change in 2025 for a two-year term. A member of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan since 2022, in parliament she serves as Secretary of the Committee on Social and Cultural Development and Science. In the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly she is Deputy Head of Kazakhstan’s Delegation.
As Special Representative on Climate Change, Senator Argynbekova works to ensure that climate change remains high on the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s agenda. Working with other OSCE institutions and international organizations, she closely monitors climate-related security risks and promotes a parliamentary perspective in addressing this global challenge.

MANDATE
- Raise awareness on climate change as a security challenge within the OSCE region.
- Promote parliamentary co-operation on climate adaptation and mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with OSCE institutions and international organizations on climate security issues.
- Monitor climate-related security risks and their impact on regional stability.
- Advise the President on climate policy and environmental security matters.
